SBA Disaster Assistance for businesses and nonprofits– The Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) is assisting the State Department of Emergency Management in determining the impact of COVID-19 on businesses. Click here for more information and the Economic Injury Worksheet Form are available on GOED’s website.

Welfare– Nevadans may apply for welfare services through the Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Welfare and Supportive Services which provides food assistance (SNAP and WIC) cash assistance (TANF), medical and child care assistance through Access Nevada or by calling  (775) 684-7200 for Northern Nevada offices to be connected with a representative. Automated voice instructions are provided in both English and Spanish.

Unemployment– COVID-19 fears are impacting our tourism industry and sending workers home with reduced or no hours. To file an unemployment claim, visit and file for “social distancing”. Because of their high call volume, applicants are being asked to complete the unemployment process online if possible.
